Frequently Asked Questions

In this section of my website I aim to answer all of you questions that might come to your mind while exploring my services. However, if you still require some additional help then please don't hesitate to contact us.

We all long to live full and satisfying lives. Sometimes, however, we hit a dead end, or feel stuck in patterns that sabotage the quality of life we long for. As much as we’d like to bring about the needed changes on our own, sometimes we need outside help. Calling on a therapist is not a sign of weakness. On the contrary, making use of the trained skills of a professional is a sign of strength, courage, and the desire to invest in yourself.

During the initial session, we will talk about what brought you to therapy. We’ll define your goals and the issues you want to address. In the case of couple and family sessions, each person will be asked to share their perspective. I will ask questions about the problem to develop a deeper understanding, and may ask questions about other issues, individual histories, and solutions you’ve already attempted. Subsequent sessions will focus on reaching your goals along with addressing obstacles and conflicts that arise along the way.

Sessions are usually 50 min long. That can be extended particularly for people who travel from out of town.

We usually start meeting on a weekly basis and then space sessions further apart as things improve. Weekly sessions allow for addressing important issues and maintain a sense of continuity through the process. The frequency of sessions, however, is flexible and is based on your needs.

The duration of therapy varies greatly from person to person and depends on your goals and the issues you want to address. Your goals will be defined during our first session.

Payments can be made either by email transfers at the end of each session.

You can set up a first appointment by contacting me at (514) 710-3129, or by email at ronpage.therapist@gmail.com

If the issues you want to address relate specifically to or are impacting your relationship, you may wish to come together. Therapy can provide you and your partner with a safe environment to learn how to better support one another now and in the various challenges life you will encounter in the future. If your partner is not willing to come, therapy can still be helpful in equipping you to deal with your own distress and explore ways of relating that respect your values.

Insurance receipts are available and fees are recognized by private insurance companies that cover services provided by a psychotherapist, marriage and family therapist, social worker.

I believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone; for this reason I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee weekly appointments (geared to total income). Please contact me to discuss further. {I currently do not have any openings for sliding scale appointments. You may request to be added to my wait-list for a sliding scale slot}

I understand that things come up unexpectedly and at times, appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled. In the event that you need to cancel your appointment, I ask that you inform me at least 24 hours in advance. Clients who cancel an appointment without any notice will be charged a cancellation fee. Exceptions will be made for emergency situations.
